IT IS BELIEVED IN BALI THAT THE GREATEST GIFT IN LIFE IS TO DEDICATE YOURSELF TO STUDIES, DEVELOPING KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM, AND CONNECTING WITH THE DIVINE, WHAT THEY CALL TAKSU.
ONCE YOU REACH THE TAKSU YOU HAVE TO GIVE IT AWAY AND SHARE IT WITH OTHERS
"My classes are a loving and inclusive space, open for EVERYONE (even kids), experienced or not experienced in art. A place that welcomes diversity, communication, listening and expression, where students can dive into themselves artistically and spiritually, in order to investigate their loves, pains, pleasures and desires - from the most sacred to the most profane.”
I WILL GUIDE YOU INTO A

Hi! I'm Allegra Ceccarelli
I am an Italo-Brazilian, with a Balinese soul, artist who has been working for more than 20 years as a performer, actress, director, dancer, singer, teacher, and producer, living between Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Bali (Indonesia).
I earned my Master's Degree in acting from East 15 Acting School, in London, and in 2015 I was awarded with a 2 years scholarship to study Balinese Ancient Ritual-Dance-Drama at ISI Denpasar University, in Bali. Balinese art transformed my life, opened my creativity and empowered me. For the last 7 years, I have been passionate about Balinese culture and gone deep into my studies with different Gurus (teachers) around the island.
I am the founder of RangdArt, a ritual-art-performative-feminist company, where I develop my research into gender equality, erotism, ancestry, mysticism, and Bali, creating performances art, experimental video arts, and dance-theatre shows.
I am also one of the founders of the Festival MenstruAÇÃO (MenstruACTION Festival), an artistic and informative festival that aims to demystify the taboo around mestruation.

The Balinese believe that we live in a dual world, what they call Penteng Lemah, made of Sekala (our dimension, the visible world, what our eyes can see and what our bodies can touch) and Niskala (other dimensions, the invisible world, what our eyes can not see and what we can not touch). The Balinese art is a form of shamanism and a way of bringing the Niskala world to the Sekala, uniting both and allowing our third eye to (re)open, so we can (re)connect with the unseen world.
SHAMANISM CAN ALSO BE REFERRED TO AS WITCHCRAFT AND IS USED AS A WEAPON TO PROTECT PEOPLE, VILLAGES, BALI AND THE WORLD.
Witchcraft is also present in different ceremonies and dances, as for example "Calonarang" and "Joget Pingitan", where witches come out (many times dancers go into trance) to clean the bad energies. I work with these dances and entities. I work with magic.
DURING THESE LAST 20 YEARS, I'VE BEEN DEVELOPING MY METHODOLOGY OF WHAT I LIKE TO CALL RITUAL-ART
A mixture of different techniques: Balinese dance, philosophy, wisdom and shamanism, mask embodiment, contemporary dance, performance art, theatre, voice and singing, yoga, meditation, chakra activation and witchcraft practices, connecting the artist, audience or student to the material and spiritual world, as the Balinese also do.
